A Junior Shuttler Is On The Top Of The World!

Singapore’s very own Yeo Jia Min was showered by congratulations from her teammate and coaches and of course a lot of her friends has teased her because of the new status that she’s in. Yeo is the newly minted world No. 1, but nothing has changed with her drills and training as she knew about the good news.

It was really a good day for the Singapore Hero, but the soft-spoken and fleet-footed player was only more concerned of the pressing need to do better and aim for more now that she’s in the top of the World looking on all the competition below her there’s no point in being complacent and relaxed but she have to make herself better to defend what she has right now.

Yeo the 18-year-old prodigy became the Singapore’s first top-ranked badminton player.

Though she still has a 6 months left to play on Juniors, the champ don’t have any plans on taking part in any junior tournaments anymore for her focus is now turned on the seniors circuit where real monsters are waiting for her to arrive.

The Asia Junior Championship is happening next month and the World Junior Championship will take place on October both in Indonesia and these are the last two junior tournaments that she will be competing.

Surely that she isn’t focusing on the rewards and the rankings, but she focuses and she is thinking about the now. As she moves up to the senior circuit, she is ranked No. 62, on the world where she will face the giants of the sport.

Senior’s competition requires a lot of tactics, patience, and consistency. The success is always hard and you can’t achieve something without a certain level of speed and fitness. It is not a secret that if a youth do well on the youth level it is not a guaranteed that you’ll also have the glory at the biggest stage it should be backed up with training, passion, and love for the game.

Surely that her sporting achievements at his very age are commendable, through her hard work and a good support system, we hope that there will be a lot of youth that will be inspired by Jia Min’s achievements.

Let’s hope for the best and see how Jia will perform in the biggest stage and let’s see how she can continue giving a very good honor to her family and country.
