Things You Need To Know About Tennis

There are still a lot of things that you need to know about the game of tennis. All you need to do is to experience the thrill and the enjoyment that the game of tennis can offer and for sure you’ll fall in love with it. Since everyone is enjoying the competition then tennis is one way to fulfill your competitive genes.

Here are the things that you need to know about tennis and that other non-tennis players are so furious about to know why?

Why can’t you play with anyone else’s tennis racket?

Yes weight, racket head, size, and string tensions are important matters when it comes to playing tennis and all tennis players are very particular and hands on when picking and choosing their tennis rackets. All players have an affinity for a particular brand and players are always in favor of brands like Yonex, Wilson and etc. If one player will borrow someone else’s racket because this is one used by your idol or this racket is known and expensive and you end up having a bad day on the tennis court it’s definitely because you had to play with a professional level weapon instead of a beginner or intermediate racket and yes everyone else on the court will take that excuse anytime of the day.

Why there are a lot of “out” terms?

A lot players are intrigue because a simple “out” can be called a hundred or a thousand ways different than the simple out. Players can say “no”, “long”, “wide”, or other player would like to just stick their pointer finger in the air like they we’re E.T. phoning home. Unlike the other competitive sports out there the game of tennis, most of the time they don’t have referees or umpire on the court, so that allows the players to do whatever they want. One more thing is this, if your opponent misses the court by a mile then it is a polite move to not say anything at all. Keep being discreet but competitive.

Why racket bags should be like titanic?

So you all know that tennis players are obsessed with their tennis rackets and a serious player must have at least three reliable and working rackets because the game of tennis is a fast paced and a very competitive game that’s why tennis strings, break almost every time and mostly on the most crucial part of the game and how can a tennis player continue without his/her tennis racket. Also you know what you’re going to need for a match when there’s the potential that you could go to three or more set tiebreakers, so it is just normal to have a huge space in your bags. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so players are always packing everything and even not the things that they need, here are some of the basic items that needs to be on the bag just like a girl packing for a holiday trip, one bottle of sunscreen, two towels, four pairs of socks, five power drinks, and five snack bars.

Why tennis is not just a sport but also fashion?

Yes we all know that the tennis is a very competitive sport but being good playing on the tennis court isn’t enough you need also to look good with your attire and etc. One funnier thing about tennis is that players consider the grand slams as their Fashion Week. All the dress of Venus Williams are a real hit, Sports Illustrated is looking at the pros’ fashion hits and misses more thoroughly than its recording their percentage of missed first serves. Yes tennis players are one of the best dressers in the world.

Why open tournament are hit?

Another cool thing about tennis is that The U.S. Open is not an event that Tiger Woods has won three times, it is one that Roger Federer has won five times. I know it’s confusing because they appeared in that Gillette ad together. The U.S Open is what Roger dominated and I think every open tournament has a tennis player that dominated that and let’s leave it that way.

Why tennis is everything?

A tennis player is very dedicated and passionate on their game and on their development. A lot of players are very keen with their training and it seems that everything is revolving about tennis and that is not true. Monday players have their clinics, Tuesday is a game with friends, Wednesday is your private lesson with your coach, and on Thursday it is a free day because it is a practice with your team and then Friday is the weekly tournament on your club, then Saturday players usually have a league play that’s why Mon-Fri is for preparation and yes Sunday is rest day and usually they go out to the malls to check if their favorite tennis racket is on sale or on a tennis shop online so they still have a lot of time. “Kidding”

So you need to calendar something if you want to have a lunch or dinner for them. Maybe in the off-season but yeah tennis isn’t like basketball or badminton, tennis doesn’t have any off-season.

Why you should warm-up seriously?

This is the most important part before you play a game of tennis. Warm-up before a match will save you from muscle strain, fatigue, and worst is serious injury. Warming up is no joke and it plays an important part in stretching those muscles and sweat it out first. Yes if its basketball then there are pre-game warm ups like shooting and doing layups, volleyball warm up also has a pre-game where they spike or receive the balls.

For tennis game, if you have a game coming then tennis players come to the venue an hour before the game to hit some balls before the court gets crowded then they always take advantage of Mini-tennis, followed by some ground strokes, a few volleys, several serves, and probably some point play. If you’re not sweating after a warm-up then you should add more minutes in your warm up and sweat it out.

Why players love tennis so much?

Well if there’s a reason of a thousand reason then we think that’s not love. So we can’t really explain why maybe because people have this very competitive nature that tennis can feed what they are looking for. We will never understand why you would love such thing that powerful but we think that if its love then there’s nothing really wrong with that. Since love conquers all. *cringe*

Much has been said but what we really want to impart to you is that the game that you love is also something that we love and there are more reason why tennis is very good not only for your health but also for the development of your whole being. Continue to enjoy the game of tennis and see you on the court one day!
