Williams Teaches Younger Opponent For Tough Lesson

It is still visible in my head as I say the first ball struck told the whole story of the game. Venus Williams corked her shoulders, flung her legs toward the sky higher than ever and unleashed a powerful and scorcher of a serve, right down the T. It was an ace of course, and the sound of it was beautiful as it whooshed across Centre Court, signaling that this would be a painful afternoon for William’s young opponent, Jelena Ostapenko.

We are looking at Venus William’s eyes and we are seeing the she is ready for blood. It was a bloody and breath taking seventy minutes that Williams has put on a display of overwhelming firepower that stirred peak-moment memories of her 20 years here, the match was over in a very fashionable way.

It was a very clean and efficient performance, on a day that could have been a muddy slog. She will now face a tough test in British No.1 Johanna Konta, but at a tournament devoid of the women’s tour’s biggest star – sister Serena Williams, out on maternity leave anything can happen and possible.

“She started the match good,” said the Latvian Ostapenko “She made a lot of aces. I just couldn’t really play my best.”

Williams said that she never player Ostapenko, but watched her, and she didn’t really know what to expect. The grass yet again changed the game.

“I was really happy to come out on top.” said Williams

One amazing trivia is that William stared across the grass at an opponent born in the middles 1990s. Ostapenko was a toddler in 1997, when Williams player her first ever Wimbledon. The 20-year-old admitted before the match that she simple couldn’t muster many memories of the Venus who strode atop the tennis world in the late 1990s and early 200s.

We hope that Williams will be finish the tennis tournament on top but whatever happens we still love the passion, dedication and the breath taking rallies that Williams is always showing each and every game.

And in the near future who wouldn’t be excited to see Serena’s unwavering talent and Venus’ unwavering desire for competition, a zest for the fight that is showing itself once again.
