Badminton Tips for Beginner and Intermediate Players

If you happen to fall in love now in the game of badminton well this is the only cure for that and that is there’s No Cure for that. So might as well love it more and be the best version that you can be by training and practicing hard to become a better badminton player.

Here are some tips that can help you grow physically, mentally, strategically in playing badminton;

Warm Up

As easy as that you should warm up when you practice, you should warm up when you play, and yes you should warm up before anything else. Start with the head and down to your toes. Sweat it out first before you enter the court. Stretch your muscles and let it flex a bit. So if you want to know what can happen if you don’t warm up it can only lead you to serious injuries.

Footwork

Learn and practice the right footwork. Watch videos of your idols and learn how they move and how return back their foot and anticipate the next move. I think of a good footwork as a good choreographed dance. So the next you play aim to be the greatest and most graceful dancer in the badminton court with your footwork. Learn how to properly move on the court and not run on it. It will make you faster and it can conserve your energy and ease some stress in your muscles.

Strokes

Do not rush in playing games. Before you jump into a match practice hitting 100 accurate tosses, drops, smashes and etc. Always work on your precision and let your muscle memory do the work. One thing to try is to mark the areas that you need to target. One important thing in the badminton game is to learn it from the book and then practice until you perfect everything. Start from the very beginning and be more assertive on yourself on what you should focus on next. Know your grips, forehand and backhand and try using them as much as possible so you can be very comfortable with it.

Watch

You should take into heart the saying “Watch and Learn”. With the help of technology you can easily get a hand of the videos of your favorite players or idols and watch how they play and learn how they use their feet, hands, and how they strategize. Learn strategies from them, techniques and tactics that you cannot see on any sports book or coach will tell you.

Be Yourself

Once you can comfortably use the strokes and mastered them. Do not forget to be yourself and add a personal touch into it. Do not be a copycat be your own, make your own path in achieving your badminton goals and the good part about personalizing your game is that deception is also an important aspect of the game.

Challenge Yourself

Try to play with people or players who you know are far from your level or are better than you. This can be a real pain and can be hard at times but it does make a big difference to your game you will be more mature and serious in every strokes that you make and it will enhance you in no time.

Play to Win

You are playing because you want to win and you want to feel the experience of winning but do not be very hard on yourself when you experience losing because that can give you additional boost to be able to compete in a higher level because you don’t want to feel that again. Do not focus on wining of losing during your initial days focus on learning.

Your goal is to learn as much as possible and be the most competitive badminton player out there that doesn’t want to lose but do not forget to aim to play a good game. Take it into your heart that you need to minimize your errors, make sure that the shuttles behaves as you intend them to be and release your full potential in the badminton court.

Do not forge to enjoy the game that even if badminton is a game of winners and losers you should also know that sports is created to make friends and enjoy yourself. Do not stress yourself in winning focus on what you can gain even if you are losing.

Train hard and be the best version of yourself.

Dominate The Game!
