A lot of people would agree and disagree that Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) is on the top of the Mount Everest when it comes to the sport of badminton. He is currently sitting at the No.1 spot of the World Ranking and is favored to win some more tournaments before the next Olympics and there’s no stopping him in guarding his position at the top of the mountain.

Lee Chong Wei is considered as a Living Legend in this sport and he is one of the all-time outstanding badminton talents that helped popularize the game in Asia and in the World for all his heroics and exciting plays.


For some time now he is at the top of the game and for those years he has earned him the title Datuk and had the Malaysian Prime Minister describe him as a national hero. He was just like the Michael Jordan of badminton for the Malaysians.

He is currently the World number one, and Chong Wei has a number of gold medals that solidify his case to be the greatest badminton player in the planet. Some of these are the victory at the 2016 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the 2010 Commonwealth in Delhi.

He also won back to back Yonex All England Open titles in 2012 and 2011 while 2014 saw him secure his tenth Malaysia Open title. Not to mention but all of his apparels are blockbuster on all physical and online badminton stores. He has received a lot of awards throughout his illustrious career and his autobiography which was entitled ‘Dare to be a Champion’ – is one of the bestselling books in their countries history.

Lee became not only an idol for many but he became an inspiration to all the younger player that is striving hard to achieve something in their life wherever they are in the world. Lee Chong Wei became more of an inspiration to the youth to create a name even if you came from a humble beginning.
