The Badminton God is now the Lee-ader


Now it is time for the legend to help raise a new legend that is the true meaning of being a great leader. Lee Chong Wei has taken the initiative to create, train, and raise a bigger talent pool of shuttles in his country. The three- time Olympic medalist will be opening a badminton academies in Perak.

Also in Ipoh there will be a Lee Chong Wei Badminton Academy and it will be launched on July 22.

This will surely raise new and competitive young shuttlers because they will be trained by the best of the bests.

Lee Chong Wei bought a huge land in Perak and that’s the venue where they built three badminton academies, The Ipoh academy will have 12, eight and six courts respectively.

We all know that the facility is not that big but with the biggest name in badminton for sure it is better than good enough room to groom and train some of the youngsters from the state.

Lee Chong Wei said that he’ll surely be there whenever he can monitor the player’s progress, we might see a new LCW and Lin Dan in one of these academies someday.
“I’ve also plans to build one in Kuala Lumpur and Johor. Johor has given me a piece of land and I’ll set up an academy soon. This is my way to ensure that we’ll never be short of talents.” Said the Badminton Legend

We all know that Lee Chong Wei is past his prime and we might see him in one or more big tournaments in the future so we are expecting to see youngsters make their name for their own and this is Lee Chong Wei’s goal to not leave the badminton scene without a new representative from his country.


Chong Wei has given Datuk Misbun Sidek’s training program the thumbs up. Datuk has been on the ground and sparring with the players since he reported for duty.

Lee Chong Wei expected that the training will be serious and all out as he have imagined the training is tough, they started at 6:30am and they did not stop until 11am which is known for the amazing coach.

“The training is intense. Every day, there are one or two players down with cramps.

“I’ve warned them earlier of what to expect. We must be ready physically and mentally to face the long and grueling training.

“It has worked for me and I hope the youngsters will persevere. I too have to push myself to keep pace but I’m enjoying it.”

This is his preparation for the World Championship in Glasgow from Aug 21-27 Chon Wei said that he doesn’t have any tournaments until the world meet so it’s all about the perfection on his movements on the court.
